For Beginners - and Beginners Again!

All of us go through phases in our exercise routines. I guess you could call them seasons. It seems that the goal for most people is to get fit and to stay fit. While that would certainly be the ideal, it isn't as easy or realistic to think that we will achiecve optimum fitness and stay there.
For one thing, what is optimum? As you get healthy and become fit, goals change to add new challenges. We change, improve and grow, continually improving our health.
For another, life happens. Sometimes we are sidelined by illness, injury or the busyness of life.
The sooner we come to terms with the second and define the first, the sooner we can move on towards our goal of better health and fitness.
Here is my question to you. Are you at a point in your life where you are willing to do what it takes to achieve your fitness goals, whether it is to be able to walk around your block or complete a marathon, or more than likely, something in between?
Perhaps you have never taken a step away from your couch OR maybe you were active at one time and have fallen off of the wagon. Either way, it's time to get up, dust yourself off and get started.
At Marathon Makeover, we specialize in helping couch potatoes become marathoners. We start by walking ONE mile. That's it. Whether you want to walk around the block, complete a 5k or become a marathoner, the starting place IS THE SAME. You must begin with consistent action. It is time to get up and MOVE. All that is required is to start and only you can do that. You have to take the first step, no one else can do it for you. If you are a beginner, take it slowly. If you are a beginner again, ease back in at your own pace. You will regain what you might have lost in no time. Remain consistent and keep moving.
As one season begins to wane and we look towards the next, set a new goal, refocus your intention and take care of YOU!
