A New Day, A New Group - Welcome!
Nov 11, 2019

For 12 years, Mark and I have trained people to walk away from the couch and train for a full or half marathon, as a way to get up and get active. Last Saturday, after a 4 year hiatus, we began another season, training a local group for a half marathon.
What a morning it was! To see new group of folks gather together and commit to train with one another for a race is always inspiring.
We had a mixed group of newcomers and people who have trained with us in the past. In fact, we had at least one person from every year we have trained. It was so good to see the past participants and just as good to see a group of new faces.
For every face, there is a story. Some, we will learn about and some, we will not. But one thing is for sure, as we have learned over the years, everyone has a reason to be out there and to train.
Training out on the road and trails is a powerful vehicle to help us move through our stories, pushing us to do the hard work of becoming better. While we work towards better physical health, we also work towards better mental and spiritual health. The result is a better YOU, all the way around.
If you have joined our group, welcome! Get ready to have the time of your life, but go in knowing that you get out of it, what you put into it. The work is up to you! Meet us online, share your story, show up for long runs and include others in your journey. We all have work to do, and here is an important truth: it is easy to do AND it is easy NOT to do. Choose to do it.
- Choose, every day, to get up and get moving, by doing what is on the schedule.
- Commit to yourself by surrendering to the process.
- Trust us by following the schedule, asking questions when you need clarification.
- Most importantly, SHOW UP!
This is a one-step-at-a-time kind of journey and we are in it with you. We ARE former couch potatoes. We know what it is like to begin this process not knowing what comes next and being unsure of how we are going to reach that finish line. If you don’t know how you are going to do it, that’s ok – we do!
We believe in you, even if you don’t believe in yourself…yet.
Now, come on, let's do this!
